Asher’s pretty cool, sure, but he’s not the only kitteh in town.

I had a little extra time on my way to a meeting across campus today, which gave me a chance to stop and smell the flowers (and by “smell”, I mean “take pictures of”).

After work, I had another nice visit with Asher the Cat.

Asher’s still a cutie.

Instead of one long walk today, we took a half-dozen smaller ones: first, to Blendon Woods (where we saw wood ducks and pied-billed grebes and kingfishers and even a common loon); then to Slate Run (where I picked things up and photographed others from a distance); and finally, on to three different areas of Pickerington Ponds (at one of which, I should be ashamed to report, we kind of harrassed a little snake).

After all that, I stopped by to visit with Asher the Cat, who was delightful, as always.

Much to my chagrin, the forecast was rain all day, and the weather radar has totally backed that up.

We were able to get out this morning while it was still only a mildly-annoying drizzle, but opted for to go see The Cabin in the Woods when the rain picked up in earnest.

While I was taking this shot, a chickadee in the tree behind me seemed to be struggling with his song, sometimes stumbling two or three notes beyond the standard Carolina-chickadee four-note serenade.
