We got an early start this morning and loaded up the bikes to go for a ride at Glacier Ridge metro park. We stopped by the wetland area before and after riding, though, and were rewarded with some interesting bird sightings.

Then it was out to dinner with some friends, bringing to a close my second 365-photo-a-day project. Cheers!

It was kind of a goofy day today. We’d planned on a long-ish hike down at Clear Creek Metro Park, but, when we arrived, JMK realized that he’d left his boots at home — and there’s no hiking those trails in Birkenstocks. So we walked along the creekside trail until the bugs started in, then went to Slate Run until those Birkenstocks got too wet in the grass, and came home to take the bikes out to Westerville to check out the bike trails there.

We had the trails there largely to ourselves, and it was hot out there. We figured all that effort earned us dinner at Dewey’s Pizza.

We went back out to Glacier Ridge Metro Park this morning right after sunrise to see what there was to see — lots of the same birds as yesterday, as it turns out, plus some others.

We tried to beat the heat a little by making a morning excursion to Glacier Ridge Metro Park, where interesting bird sightings abound. It was still really, really hot out there.

Even though it’s way too freakin’ hot out there, Midwest Photo Exchange is having a two-day tent sale, which means there’s an actual tent behind the store with all kinds of neat photo gear for sale. (This shot, though, was taken inside the store, where it was almost as hot as outside.)
