For months, every time I went out on the deck, Mitsu would growl and run away as soon as he saw me from the doors; for JMK, he’d chirp and chatter and rub up against the window, trying to make contact. Gradually, he stopped growling, and then he finally stopped running away to hide; today, I think, marks the first time I got the JMK treatment: rolling around and touching the window to greet me.
